Art Type: Daily comic strip original artwork. Medium: Pen and ink and Zip-A-Tone (plastic overlay with dot matrix) over pencil/graphite on art board. Publisher: King Features Syndicate, Inc. Publication Date: September 25, 1936.
Dimensions: 21.5" wide by 5.625" tall (board dimensions; image slightly smaller). Inscribed "For Jerry Dummer from his pal". Description: This is the original artwork for the daily comic strip JUST KIDS by Ad Carter. Just Kids ran from 1932 through 1957 and followed in the footsteps of Percy Crosby's "Skippy" and Gene Byrnes' "Reg'lar Fellers" in both look and content. The strip followed the adventures of scrappy neighborhood kids led by Mush Stebbins, Fatso Dolan and Pat Chan.
Fatso Dolan (who's looking for a scrap in the first panel) and Pat Chan are not impressed by Mush's altruism. A cute gag nicely rendered by Carter.
A rare example of an original from this classic strip. The art is in excellent overall condition. Zip-A-Tone overlay is intact; some of the glue has darkened. Blue lines to art (to indicate shading).
